MANILA, Philippines – Shane Filan of the Irish boyband Westlife has expressed interest in sharing the stage and singing with Filipino boxing champion, lawmaker, and recording artist Manny Pacquiao in their group’s upcoming Philippine concert.

During a phone patch interview with ABS-CBN News, Filan said, “If he'd (Pacquiao) like to join us on stage, we'd be truly honored. He's a big star.”

Filan said he and his fellow Westlife members Mark Feehily, Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne are really thrilled about their upcoming concert in the Philippines.

It has been quite a long time since they have visited the country, he added.

“We’re very excited. We haven’t been in the Philippines for a long time and we haven’t seen our fans for a very long time.”

Westlife first made its mark in the international music scene during late 90’s.

Their fans swooned not only because of their boyish charms, but also because of their chart-topping hits like “Swear it Again,” Flying Without Wings,” If I Let You Go,” and “Fool Again.”

Westlife’s Philippine concert is set to be held at the Araneta Coliseum on September 29.
